About India Mining Week

A New Global Platform for the Future of Mining

India Mining Week 2026 is envisioned as India's flagship international platform for the mining, minerals and associated industrial ecosystem.

The event will create a common meeting ground for government, industry, capital, technology and talent to discuss the strategic priorities shaping mining in the twenty-first century.

India Mining Week will focus on the complete resource-development journey — from mineral exploration and extraction to processing, value addition, manufacturing, sustainability, mine closure and post-mining transformation.

More than a conventional exhibition or conference, it is designed as a transformation platform where:

  • Policy direction is communicated
  • Investment opportunities are presented
  • Technologies are demonstrated
  • International partnerships are advanced
  • Technical knowledge is exchanged
  • Projects meet capital
  • Startups meet industry
  • Academia meets commercial opportunity
  • Discussions lead to commitments

The CMPDI technical blueprint proposes positioning the event as a globally benchmarked Mining Transformation Summit focused on intelligent, sustainable and AI-enabled mining.

Mining Geological and Metallurgical Institute of India (MGMI) — 120 years of service to the mineral fraternity

Organised by MGMI, under the aegis of the Ministry of Coal & Ministry of Mines — India Mining Week reflects India's commitment to becoming a global leader in responsible mineral development, energy security, critical mineral supply chains, and advanced mining technologies.

“India Mining Week is where policy meets technology, investment meets opportunity, and innovation transforms the future of mining.”
Our mission

Ten commitments that guide every part of the platform

Our vision

To establish India Mining Week as the world's definitive platform where policy, capital, technology and talent converge to reimagine mining for the twenty-first century.

The event will seek to position India as a global reference point for AI-enabled, autonomous, sustainable and inclusive mining — where reforms unlock scale, technology improves safety and productivity, and mining supports nation-building, energy transition and environmental stewardship.

Every part of the platform is built on:

Position India as a leading global mining destination.

Accelerate technology adoption across the mining value chain.

Strengthen critical-mineral supply chains.

Advance net-zero and nature-positive mining.

Catalyse mining innovation and entrepreneurship.

Build a future-ready mining workforce.

Encourage global and bilateral partnerships.

Promote responsible investment.

Connect research with operational needs.

Convert dialogue into measurable outcomes.

What we're building toward

Guiding principles

01

Ambition Over Incrementalism

Every major conversation should move the sector forward rather than repeat established discussions.

02

Evidence Over Anecdote

Sessions should be supported by data, pilots, case studies, technical papers and practical experience.

03

Commitments Over Conversations

Each programme stream should aim to conclude with a measurable outcome such as an MoU, pilot, investment discussion, policy recommendation or institutional commitment.

04

Inclusion by Design

Women in mining, startups, MSMEs, academia, students, communities and young professionals should be integrated throughout the programme.

05

Global by Openness, Indian by Design

The event should meet international standards while remaining rooted in India's priorities, institutions and development ambitions.

Strategic Objectives

Strategic Objectives and Intended Outcomes

01

Position India as a Global Mining Destination

Success may be reflected through increased international participation, investment intent and post-event enquiries.

02

Accelerate Technology Adoption

The blueprint proposes facilitating technology-pilot discussions and MoUs between Indian operators and global technology providers.

03

Secure Critical-Mineral Supply Chains

The event will seek to advance bilateral frameworks, joint ventures, exploration cooperation and offtake discussions.

04

Advance Net-Zero and Nature-Positive Mining

The programme will promote decarbonisation, methane management, closure reform, ecological restoration and climate-risk planning.

05

Catalyse Mining Innovation

The platform will showcase startups, prototypes and innovation while promoting investment and industry adoption.

06

Build the Future Workforce

The event will support skills, research, academia–industry collaboration and professional development.

The blueprint identifies proposed success indicators such as technology pilots, international frameworks, startup participation, workforce agreements and measurable sustainability commitments.
